Abstract
Diaskop, founded in 1991, is the only magazine in Bulgaria to publish articles on the history and analysis of comics. It also publishes comic stories, among others by its founder, Georgi Chepilev. He is the founder of “Diaskop Comics”, a Bulgarian blog created in 2008 with texts exploring the language of Bulgarian comic art. The educational project “Weekly electronic edition for the language of Bulgarian comic art” has partnerships with cultural institutes, among which the first is the “George Papazov” gallery. The main goal is to contribute to the development of picture novels and comic art in Bulgaria through the collection, documentation, preservation, research, creation and dissemination of comic culture and spiritual values and the humanization of public relations. It promotes and supports theoretical and research activities concerning the understanding, analysis and development of novels in paintings and comic art. It preserves, develops and affirms the Bulgarian comic tradition, as well as its popularization among the general public and assists in the realization of contemporary picture novels and comic works that continue it. The online magazine contains the following sections: Traditions, Research, Dictionary, Comic book art, Exhibitions, Heroes, Vanguard, Comics, Image and Word.
