Valeri Petrov was born on April 22, 1920. He is a gifted and productive poet, screenwriter, dramatist, translator, scriptwriter, academician of the BAS, entered in the list of honor of the International Council for Children’s Books and the winner of numerous authoritative prizes, among them the native award “Hristo G. Danov” and the award for European citizen of the European Parliament for 2013 – for contribution to Bulgarian culture and understanding between nations. He left this world on August 27, 2014, but his exquisite works continue to excite young and old alike.
