Cemal Süreya, aka Cemalettin Seber, is a Kurdish-Turkish poet, writer and translator. He is one of the pioneer poets of the Second New poetry, which is a modernist movement in Turkish poetry. Although he made his first poetry experiments with sketches in middle
school and prosody in high school, his real poetry studies started during his university years. He was born in Erzincan on 1931.He died in İstanbul on 1990.
