He was born in 1866 in Istanbul and lived in the Ottoman period of time. He started his education at a local school and continued at a military school. He worked in different professions to earn a living. He worked as a banker and literature teacher. He was still interested in literature when he was dealing with politics. One of his most successful and famous masterpiece is Aşk-ı Memnu which means forbidden love. He began to write his works in the Latin alphabet. He has produced works in many fields such as
theatre, essays, poetry, travel writings. The famous writer died on March 27, 1945 in Yeşilköy, Istanbul.

Abstract
Ahmet Cemil always dreams of being a famous literary man. After his father dies, he maintains his family. He starts to translate foreign books. He always has hope, he calls them as his blue dreams. He starts working at a publishing house called “Mir’at-ı Şuun”. He falls in love with his close friend’s sister,Lamia. Then the publishing house’s manager dies, his son, Vehbi Efendi, takes the control. He marries
with Ahmet Cemil’s sister, İkbal. He beats İkbal in a cruel way that she miscarriages. She dies. Ahmet Cemil was dreaming of getting married with Lamia when he fixes his economical problems, but his friend says that Lamia was getting married to an officer. Ahmet Cemil burns his masterpiece in the stove. Now all blue dreams turn black. Saying goodbye to his dreams and hopes, he walks away.
