Abstract
In La hermandad de las malas hijas, Mónica works as a dog trainer for the National Police, though she harbors ambitions to become a detective. When the neighborhood dog‑walker dies under mysterious circumstances, she decides to investigate, reconnecting with her childhood circle of friends. These women once called themselves “the bad daughters” — each with fraught relationships with their mothers: one becomes a mother to her own, another feels abandoned, a third has never heard praise. As they unravel the mystery behind Orlando’s death, they also confront hidden truths, heal generational wounds, and explore the delicate ties between daughters and mothers, in a story full of tension, tenderness, and emotional discovery.
