Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı was born on October 4, 1910, in Diyarbakır. Although he started his education at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Literature, he did not complete it. He entered the literary world with his article titled ‘Face to Face with the Masters’. Recognized as one of the pioneers of the ‘Garip’ movement, Tarancı marked a significant milestone in Turkish literature with his poetry book ‘Otuz Beş Yaş’, published in 1946. Known for his works that explore universal themes such as love, life,
death, and the human inner world, the poet passed away on October 13, 1956, in Istanbul. His poems continue to reflect Tarancı’s emotional depth and literary talent, leaving a lasting impact on Turkish literature.
