Carlo Collodi, whose real name was Carlo Lorenzo Filippo Giovanni Lorenzini, was born on 24 November 1826 in Florence, Italy.
He was a writer, journalist and translator, best known for his work The Adventures of Pinocchio, published in 1883.
He began his career as a journalist and contributed to several newspapers, but it was in children’s literature that he achieved his greatest fame.
His most prominent work, Pinocchio, initially appeared as a newspaper serial before being compiled into a book, he also wrote short stories and fables, and his style is characterised by mixing elements of popular tradition with moral lessons.
He finally died on 26 October 1890 in Florence, leaving an immense literary legacy.

Abstract
Pinocchio is a famous fairy tale written by Carlo Collodi. This classic of children’s literature tells the story of a wooden doll called Pinocchio who is brought to life.
Pinocchio is born from a log of wood, created by a carpenter named Geppetto, who treats him as his son. Throughout the story, Pinocchio has many adventures and faces many temptations and challenges, such as lying, disobedience and being influenced by bad company. Every time he lies, his nose grows bigger as a punishment.
Pinocchio’s dream is to become a real boy, but to achieve it he must learn to be brave, honest and responsible. Throughout his journey, he is guided by a series of characters, such as the Blue Fairy, who gives him the chance to transform into a real boy if he shows his kindness.
Finally, after many lessons learned, Pinocchio shows his courage and love for Geppetto, which allows him to become a real boy, achieving his dream of becoming human. The story highlights the values of honesty, courage and responsibility.
