Jane Austen, born in Steventon on December 16, 1775, was a British novelist who still occupies a prominent place in the history of English and even universal literature.
Especially interested in the psychology of characters and human relationships, she cultivated a taste for intimate portraits and the study of domestic life, relying on a refined style and an undoubted technical perfection.
Many of her titles have been taken to the big screen, works such as “Pride and Prejudice”, “Sense and Sensibility” or “Persuasion” among the most recognized. The author’s vision is a bit ironic and funny. Her works show the naivety of people, but also teach us that we must be patient and understanding. Her writing is like a mirror that shows reality but without being too severe.

Elizabeth is one of the five marriageable daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, a family of average status at the time, whose hope is to get a good husband for their daughters to secure their future, as their mother knows that when they die, their daughters will lose what little fortune they have.
The novel’s main plot concerns the love between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, both of whom are too proud to admit their feelings to each other, and the parallel theme of the novel is the marriage of the Bennet’s eldest daughter Jane to Mr. Bingley. Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley are close friends, they meet Elizabeth and Jane after arriving at Netherfield Park, at a social event, from the very beginning, the feelings of both sisters towards the friends become noticeable, even the tension between the two main characters, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.
