Abstract
In 1884 Jules Verne arrives at the port of Vigo in search of the mysterious plant women. Violeta’s family, her grandparents, Melisa and the apothecary Phillipot, are the custodians of an important secret.
Verne wants to know everything about the plant women and they need the help of his inventions to survive. Grandmother Melisa’s illness and Violeta’s desire to be reunited with her mother make it possible for them to live a fascinating adventure in the Cíes Islands, where the magical forest of these extraordinary women is located.
At the end of the novel we discover that the story is told by Lila, Violeta’s great-granddaughter, who continues the lineage of her family’s plant women.
