Abstract
It tells the story of the confrontation of four women with different degrees of intellectual disability, who live in a supervised flat in Barcelona, against the state institutions that try to control their lives.
The author reconstructs the story of Nati, Patri, Marga and Ángels from the moment the Catalan Administration decides to carry out the forced sterilisation of one of them in a fragmented narrative that is based on the discourses of power and resistance: the minutes of an anarchist assembly, the minutes of the judicial process, the technique of ‘easy reading’ for people with disabilities and the verbal outbursts of Nati, who has a hilarious and loquacious ‘floodgate syndrome’ that makes her intolerant of all forms of oppression.
It is a radical novel in its ideas, its form and its language. This book is a battlefield: against monogamous, white heteropatriarchy, against institutional and capitalist rhetoric, against activism that uses the trappings of ‘the alternative’ to prop up the status quo.
