Abstract
The novel is a modern classic, original and inspiring, well worth reading.
A middle-aged man from Varna falls in love and lives with his girlfriend in Bulgaria in the early 1990s. They decide to emigrate to the United States at the first opportunity because their home reality restricts their free spirit. But they fall into the trap of the gray, nasty, personality-erasing America. The money is not enough until he forges his diploma and starts working as a pharmacist. He has barely fulfilled his American dream, when one day Zach’s beloved simply leaves. Forever, irrevocably. Three days later, he drops everything, unintentionally steals a bag of marijuana, kills a man, and embarks on a journey across the continent.
The movie was released in 2020 and still has a huge success.
