Yana Yazova, a pseudonym, with real names Lyuba Todorova Gancheva, is a Bulgarian writer. Yazova’s first novel is Anna Dulgerova. In this fascinating work, the rift of ideals in Bulgaria at that time stands out. It is also the most published. Yana Yazova died under circumstances that are unclear to this day. The last sign that she was alive was a note in her notebook dated May 19, 1974. Her body was found in her home at the end of July. With her works and her dramatic destiny, Yana Yazova ranks among our great literary talents of the last century.
