Abstract
On the last day of vacation, but after three whole months confined at home reading and not going outside. Young Orion feels lost, bored, and missing his father.
Then everything changes: his dog, Wouf, is abducted by aliens. To rescue him, Orion sets off on a truly cosmic mission: traveling through the solar system of Seirios and confronting an inter-planetary army.
Armed only with the so-called “book-jump” technology of the robot Mark 51 (the galactic most clumsy robot), they don’t just travel through space, they travel inside books. They jump into familiar stories, face monsters, team up with legends from the past and attempt to save not just Wouf, but an entire planet under attack.
What unfolds is a fun, fast-paced sci-fi adventure filled with humour and heart. The story weaves together a love of books, animals and space, while also gently exploring themes of grief (for the missing father), isolation, friendship and courage.
It invites young readers to imagine: What if you could escape your room, your home, without actually leaving it? What if by opening a book you could cross galaxies, face cosmic foes and still find your way back?
